Some 40 employees from the Volvo Group Truck UK & Ireland head office took part in a charity truck pull on Wednesday that raised £700 for the Intensive Care Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital
A fund-raising ‘Truck Pull’ held at Volvo Group Trucks’ head office in Wedgnock Lane, Warwick on Wednesday 11th May raised £700 for the Intensive Care Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The event, which involved staff from all the Volvo Group companies and support services, saw four teams of 10-people in a head-to-head battle pulling trucks over a 100m course.
Sharon Kerrie Millar, the organiser of the truck pull and a driving force behind fund raising for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, said: “We had staff from Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Volvo Bus, Road Crew, Volvo Penta, Mitie, Integral, Group Accounts and Volvo Financial Services. All took time out during their lunch break to take part in this truck pull and help us raise another £700 for such a worthy cause. All I can really say is ‘thank you’!”
